Library's school holiday activities go online-only

Looking for something to do this school holidays?

Murray Bridge Library has something planned for almost every weekday.

The only difference between these holidays and any other is that the entire program will be online, to limit the number of children gathering together in person in accordance with COVID-19 restrictions.

Coming up are:

• Quick craft with Michelle: 10am on Tuesday, July 7, via Facebook Live. Learn how to make stained glass butterflies using cellophane, glue, cardboard, scissors and a pipe cleaner.
• Storytime with Tim: 10am on Wednesday, July 8 and Tuesday, July 14, via Facebook Live.
• Quick craft with Tim: 10am on Friday, July 10, via Facebook Live. Origami.
• Dungeons and Dragons: 10am and 2pm on Monday, July 13. For experienced players and beginners; everyone who RSVPs will be sent a link.
• Quick craft with Michelle: 10am on Wednesday, July 15, via Facebook Live. Learn how to create penguins and caterpillars using egg cartons, scissors, textas or paint, glue, googly eyes, orange and white paper and a pipe cleaner.

Library manager Tim Law, pictured, said organising it all had been “exciting, daunting and interesting”.

Spaces were still available in the activities which had a set capacity, he said, but they were filling fast.

Families should call the library on 8539 1175 to RSVP.

The library has also returned to a state closer to normal, with no more restrictions on the number of people who can be inside at once and no more quarantining books and other items once they are returned.

It closed for several weeks when COVID-19 restrictions first took effect, but reopened on May 13 under strict conditions.
