Country music’s biggest stars will come to Murray Bridge this October for a spectacular riverfront festival the likes of which the city might never have seen before.

Aussie superstar Lee Kernaghan has been announced as the headline act at Country by the River, a two-day event at Sturt Reserve on October 16 and 17.

The Sunny Cowgirls and former Australian Idol contestant Casey Barnes will also feature on a star-studded line-up which will include Amber Lawrence, Andrew Swift, Jayne Denham, Hurricane Fall, Col Finlay and Paul Costa alongside rising stars Gretta Ziller, Gareth Leach, Michaela Jenke and Ella and Sienna, among others.

The event is being organised by Oz Country Music Festivals, the group behind Victoria’s two-year-old Mornington Country Music Festival.

The organisers described it as a family-friendly weekend with on-site camping and food trucks.

Tickets were due to go on sale to pre-registered buyers at 9am on Tuesday via ticketing outlet Moshtix.

Any remaining tickets will be made available to the general public at 9am on Thursday.

However, capacity at the riverfront venue will be limited to just 3000 people.
