Former Home and Away star turned book writer, Judy Nunn will drop into Murray Bridge as part of a book launch tour around Australia.

Set in the late 1800s, in the frontier country of Western Australia’s northwest, Pilbara transports readers to a time and place where the rules are few and the dangers many.

Murray Bridge Library host the local launch event at 11am on Friday, November 11.

So why should people read this newest book?

"It's a bloody good read," Nunn says.

"It's the characters ... they're very, very colourful, as they were at those days, a bit bigger than life."

She last visited Murray Bridge two years ago, with the release of Black Sheep.

"We usually get a lovely turn-up at Murray Bridge, so I may even see people I've already met before," she said.

Nunn has sold more than a million copies of her books worldwide and has had countless number-one bestselling books.

This book takes you to the wild west of Australia – a lawless, violent region where treachery is a way of life and the meek will not last.

"Adventurers came to settle and made their own laws, which is what interested me as it wasn't run like a normal British-run settlement," Nunn said.

"They were ruthless people."

She will chat about the story in more depth during her visit, where people can ask questions and listen to her read excerpts from the book.

"That's the actor in me coming to the foreground ... I like to entertain and put on a good show," she said.

"It's just a really good yarn and I hope people will enjoy."
