John Whimpress, Bob England named Rotary Club presidents
The Rotary Clubs of Murray Bridge and Mobilong have each held their changeover dinners for 2022.

Murray Bridge’s Rotary Clubs have each appointed new leaders for 2022-23 at their traditional changeover dinners.
Bob England was named president of the Rotary Club of Mobilong, succeeding Bronwyn Heard, at a dinner at Murray Bridge RSL on Saturday night.
Sixty-two Rotarians and guests dined together while being entertained by the Harmony Trio.
The Rotary Club of Murray Bridge held its own changeover a week earlier at the Bridgeport Hotel, where John Whimpress succeeded Sue Foster as president.
Ms Foster outlined the club’s achievements during 2021-22, which included a partnership with Foodbank SA, a buddy bench for the Callington Recreation Park, a bottle-top recycling project with Murray Bridge High School, and support for people in need in South Africa, Indonesia, Cambodia and Tanzania.
Mr Whimpress expressed hope that the club would be able to turn around a decline in its membership in the years to come.
“We must address how we bring our Rotary mission into households in and around our community,” he said.
“We must find new models for membership that allow all people interested in our mission to participate and become involved in Rotary and help us achieve our goals.”
The club also gave Avenues of Service Awards to Mayor Brenton Lewis and Jack Reddin; a Paul Harris sapphire pin to Robin LeGallez; and Paul Harris Fellowship medals to Lyn and Simon Sickerdick and Peter Phillips.
