Jervois sporting club will get new air conditioning
A federal grant will make the town's footballers, netballers and cricketers more comfortable year-round.
The Jervois Combined Sporting Club will get new heating and air conditioning thanks to a government grant.
Federal MP Tony Pasin visited the club recently to present it with a novelty-sized cheque for $7626.
Club president Russell Jarvis said the funding would make the football, netball and cricket clubrooms comfortable for members throughout the year.
He thanked Mr Pasin and his staff.
Mr Pasin said the federal government wanted to help sporting clubs remain vibrant and sustainable, as they were so often the “beating hearts” of their communities.
The funding came from the federal Stronger Communities Program, the same program which helped pay for a bus for the Murray Bridge-based Maori Evangelical Church of SA in 2020.
