Want to buy a dairy factory?

The former Beston Global Food Company facility at Jervois has been advertised for sale following the company’s collapse late last year.

Also up for grabs are five nearby grazing properties on Hicks, Cheso, Fabbian and Brion Roads, totalling 78 hectares.

Real estate agents Colliers have not attached a price to either listing.

Both will be sold by an expression of interest process, with interested parties invited to get in touch by June 11.

The agents described the factory site as an “excellent opportunity”, with 2300 square metres of floor space, three-phase power and an 89-megalitre water licence attached.

However, the former factory’s milk processing equipment will not be included in the sale – much of it has already been sold.

Beston closed its two Murraylands factories in December, almost three months after being placed in administration with crippling debts and cash flow problems.

The Jervois factory was originally established by a local co-operative in 1939, and was previously owned by processing company UDP prior to its collapse in 2015.

The Murray Bridge factory has reportedly already been sold, according to The Advertiser, to X Convenience founder Steve Kosmidis.

It is unclear what he might do with the property.

Mr Kosmidis is no longer involved with the service station chain, which his family sold to BP last year.
