Intentional camera movement photography will be club’s focus
The Murraylands Community Photography Club will hold a free workshop on June 25.
The Murraylands Community Photography Club is inviting photographers of all ages and experience levels to an inspiring workshop on intentional camera movement photography at the Murray Bridge Library next Thursday, June 25, from 5.30 to 7.30pm, offering a unique opportunity to discover a more creative and expressive approach to photography.
Participants will learn how movement, colour, light, and imagination can be combined to create striking artistic images.
The workshop will explore simple techniques that can be used with either a DSLR camera or a mobile phone, making it accessible to anyone with an interest in photography.
Club member Glenn Power said ICM photography encouraged people to move beyond the traditional rules and explore photography as an art form.
“Intentional camera movement is all about freedom,” he said.
“It’s about seeing the world differently and creating images that express mood, emotion and movement rather than simply recording what is in front of you.
“There are no boundaries and no right or wrong outcomes.”
He said many people were surprised by the results they could achieve.
“You don’t need expensive equipment or years of experience,” he said.
“Some of the most creative ICM images are captured on mobile phones.
“It’s about experimenting, having fun, allowing the universe and your imagination to take control.”
The evening will include examples of ICM photography, discussion of techniques, and opportunities to share ideas with other photography enthusiasts.
The Murraylands Community Photography Club promotes creativity, learning and connection through photography and welcomes anyone interested in exploring the art of image-making.
With a focus on mood, colour, motion, and artistic expression, organisers say the workshop promises to be an enjoyable evening that may completely change the way participants look at the world through a lens.
Everyone is welcome, and it’s free to everyone in our community.
