High spirits as Twin Bridges Distillery launches
A pair of FIFO mine workers are about to launch the Murraylands’ only gin distillery with a party at the Round House.
This sponsored story is brought to you by Twin Bridges Distillery.
As Cameron Jones walked out of the world’s most famous distillery, his footsteps crunching in the snow, a smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.
He’d just been sitting with Wild Turkey’s master distiller, Jimmy Russell, in a tasting room in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.
There, 10,000 miles from home, he couldn’t help but think: “could I do this?”
Seven years later, that dream is becoming a reality.
Twin Bridges Distillery is a collaboration between Cameron, a mechanic by trade, and his life-long mate Phil O’Connell, a sparky.
The pair grew up together and eventually found themselves working shoulder to shoulder at the same FIFO mine site.
Their plans came together in down time between shifts and, with support from Cameron’s wife Katrina, they’ve brewed their first few batches of gin in a shed in Murray Bridge.
Their aim is to provide a high-quality, locally sourced product.
“We’re just like you,” Cameron said.
“Are we gin drinkers?
“No, but we make it and bloody enjoy drinking it and it shows in our style.
“Our gins are made with everyone in mind; we wanted them to be smooth, refreshing and easy drinking.
“I know I’m biased but believe we nailed it.”
Come on down to the launch party
If you love gin – and wine, and wood-fired pizza – come on down to Murray Bridge’s Round House next Saturday, February 11.

“We’re so excited to get our business up and running that we’d like to share our products with the community and the people who have helped us along the way,” Cameron, Phil and Katrina said.
