The St Vincent op shop has been in Murray Bridge for over 20 years, providing affordable, high quality products.
There are seven volunteers at the shop that help run the retail.
The proceeds are put back into the community by funding conference, which happens to be next door to the centre.
The conference is responsible for assisting those in need with anything from food, clothing vouchers, furniture or financial aid.
Rochelle Groenenberg, store manager, said everyone is welcomed to Vinnies, regardless of religion, background or culture.
“There's no judgement here it's all about learning, bringing people together and helping each other,” she said.
People in need are encouraged to volunteer in order to gain experience, knowledge and skills in a work field.
“I feel really strongly about getting volunteers in here who need jobs…even if it’s a couple hours each day just to get back into the swing of things and communicate with people.”
“They don’t have to know everything, you learn as you go, everyone is so supportive here, we’re like a family and always welcoming new people,” she said.
How can Vinnies help?
The main place community members can seek help is by calling the service number or visiting the op shop.
“Anybody who comes in for help is directed to the assistance program where they will be able to make an appointment and talk to the conference members to work out what they need and go from there,” said Ms Groenenberg.
Support services include food and clothing provisions, assistance with completing forms, and everyday essentials.
