Many Murraylands residents are again preparing to get spooky and lean into the spirit of Halloween this Saturday night.
The tradition might have been imported, but it has become more and more popular in Murray Bridge and surrounding towns in recent years.
Murray Bridge News will again operate a photo booth outside its office at 30 Seventh Street from 5-7pm – come and get your photo taken while you’re all dressed up, and grab a lolly or two while you’re at it.
There will be no Halloween trail around Murray Bridge this year, as last year’s organisers AC Care are closed on a Saturday.
But other businesses hosting celebrations will include:
- Bridge Bowl, who will host a Halloween glow bowling event from 5-10pm
- Bridge Trophies/Grazingfordayz on Bridge Street, who will have a photo spot from 4-8pm
- Murray Bridge Golf Club, where a Halloween party from 5-9pm will feature face painting, music and raffles
Out of town, a big Halloween event is planned at Mypolonga Memorial Oval, with rides, games, a bouncy castle and a dinner of nuggets and chips for the kids included in an entry fee of $12 per child.
Meals and drinks will also be available for grown-ups, who will get in for free from 5.30pm.
Trick-or-treaters will be welcome at Tailem Bend Town Hall between 5.30 and 6pm, accompanied by an adult, before a sold-out Halloween cabaret begins at 7.30.
And, of course, a number of households around the region will welcome young visitors in their front yards or at their doors on Saturday evening.
Around Murray Bridge, you can take part in the fun at:
