Give the gift of warmth this winter, Salvos urge

Murray Bridge's Salvation Army corps has set up a community coat rack.

Give the gift of warmth this winter, Salvos urge

Do you have a coat hanging in the back of your wardrobe that you don't wear any more?

Maybe it doesn't fit, maybe it is no longer fashionable – it doesn't really matter, so long as it is warm.

The Salvation Army is seeking donations to help needy Murray Bridge residents stay warm this winter.

All you need to do is relocate your old coat to the rack now standing outside the charity's premises on Fourth Street on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

A sign on the rack says:

“Need a coat?

“Please take one.

“Want to help?

Please leave one.”

Financial counsellor Janet Emmins said the Salvos were looking for coats of any size, though larger ones were especially in demand.

"(People) can bring them down and hand them in to the office or put them on the coat rack," she said.

"The rack will be monitored by the Salvos."
