Give back this festive season with the 2022 Murraylands Christmas Appeal

Christmas is the time for giving, and since the big day is only two months away, now is as good a time as any to start.

The Murraylands Christmas Appeal is back, supporting charities’ efforts to gather food and toys for local families in need this Christmas.

Council CEO Michael Sedgman said it was up to everyone in the community to do their bit.

“The 2021 appeal was able to reach 304 vulnerable families and provide toys for almost 210 children,” he said.

“Our community organisations could not reach the number of people they do without the valued assistance they receive from community members.

“The pressures of Christmas can be very stressful for people in need and your generosity and support will go a long way.”

The appeal will support local charities AC Care, the St Vincent de Paul Society and the Salvation Army.

Donations of unwrapped toys for children under 14 and in-date non-perishable foods are now being accepted by the offices of each of the above charities before December 15 2022.

Monetary donations or cash cards must be provided to the charity of choice directly and a tax deductible receipt will be provided upon request.
