President Deirdre Kitto welcomed 43 members and the three newcomers to a meeting on Friday for which 11 apologies were received.
Guest speakers were Senior Sargeant Tim Stacey and police officer Keava, who spoke on the topic of home safety.
Their suggestions to protect homes and valuables included:
- Photograph your tools
- Cancel deliveries and have someone pick up your mail if you go away
- Install locks on your mail box
- Don’t leave messages on your phone
- Engrave your computer or mobile phone in case it is stolen, and record model and serial numbers
It was a most valuable lesson in safety, and Bruno Lablack and the group gave a vote of thanks to the hard-working police officers.
Also thanked was Dianne Woidt, for her many years of service to the group as treasurer.
