Weather permitting, there will be a temporary full bridge closure of the Old Murray Bridge between 9.30am and 2.30pm this Friday, June 16.

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport is undertaking major refurbishment works on the Old Murray Bridge, which should increase the bridge’s lifespan by around 30 years.

As part of this refurbishment, the next temporary bridge closure is needed to lift the bridge structure for the reconstruction of the pier 26 columns.

During the temporary scheduled bridge closures, detours will be via the Swanport Bridge; the detour routes for temporary bridge closures map is available on the Department for Infrastructure and Transport website.

Access for emergency services vehicles will be maintained at all times during these works.

Delays are expected, so please plan ahead, allow extra travel time and take extra care when workers are on site.

Observe speed limits, lane restrictions and traffic controllers when travelling through the area.
