Former X-ray manager joins local health network board
Elaine Ashworth has replaced the retiring Peter Joyner OAM as chair of the Riverland Mallee Coorong LHN.
A familiar face has been appointed to an important body which oversees public health services in the Murraylands.
Robin Valentine, a former manager of the medical imaging department at Murray Bridge’s hospital, has joined the Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network board.
Though she is now the manager of a farm at Parilla, she was based locally between 2011 and 2023.
Meanwhile, former physiotherapist Elaine Ashworth was appointed as the network’s chair, succeeding retired Mannum GP Peter Joyner.
Ms Ashworth has worked as a physio and practice manager in five states and territories, plus the United Kingdom; and was Country Health SA’s principal allied health advisor prior to 2015.
Dr Joyner, accountant Claudia Goldsmith and Resthaven’s Melanie Ottaway were all re-appointed to the board, while Murray Bridge Councillor Fred Toogood remains a member.
Department for Health and Wellbeing CEO Robyn Lawrence welcomed the new members of local health network boards across the state, saying they were central to the success of South Australia’s health system.
Health Minister Chris Picton thanked Dr Joyner for his service.
