Johnston Withers Lawyers’ Murray Bridge team is undergoing some changes this month, with familiar faces promoted into new roles.
With practice manager Gemma Wallace moving on to a new role, other experienced team members will have an opportunity to show clients that they’re still in safe hands.
Taking over Gemma’s role as conveyancing practice leader throughout the state will be Tanya Williams.
Leading the charge in the Murray Bridge office will be Fiona Woolfitt, a succession planning expert who has been promoted to senior conveyancer after six years with the company.
Lorrelle Schubert has recently gained her registration as a conveyancer; while Erin Guerin, who has been with the firm since its days as Marshall Conveyancing, and Carly Doecke are experienced conveyancing assistants.
They would also like to welcome and introduce Kayla Flavel to the Murray Bridge team.
Kayla has recently started with the firm as its manager of first impressions.
All are certified locals, as well – Fiona lives on the family farm in the Mallee; Lorrelle is well known at Tailem Bend as an owner of the old butcher’s shop; and Carly, Kayla and Erin are all from Murray Bridge and surrounds.
Fiona said it would continue to be business as usual at Johnston Withers.
“We’ve got a wonderful team of conveyancing and legal professionals throughout the state to offer to our fresh and loyal clients,” she said.
“We’ll continue working with the community through continued support of local businesses, our sponsorship of local sports teams, our random acts of kindness and acknowledging the dedicated work of our district’s volunteers.
“It’s one of the great things about Johnston Withers: it’s a very personal, approachable firm.”
Recent customer reviews reflect this:
- “Loved it again! Very professional but also friendly. The ladies know their stuff … I will continue to engage.” –Peter L
- “Have used before, very happy with service. Great customer relationship. Very thorough, and return calls promptly.” –Marc and Janine C
- “The whole team are very professional and understanding, with great knowledge. I was kept informed the whole time. They made me feel at ease in what was a stressful time. Definitely recommend.” –Katherine L
Team members are excited about their new roles
Lorrelle said the excitement of conveyancing – helping clients take big steps in their lives by buying and selling properties – was what had prompted her to gain further qualifications in the field.
“The process of someone buying their first property is always exciting to share with our clients, and to make that final settlement call at the end feels very rewarding,” she said.
“I like the reassurance that communicating with our clients during the process brings at the end of the day – a client who feels supported is a reflection of the service we strive to provide.”
Carly said she enjoyed the satisfaction of helping clients secure their dream homes, and the satisfaction those clients felt, too – “we receive so many positive reviews”.
The challenge of commercial conveyancing was something that appealed to Erin: “being able to help someone during a process that could be quite daunting to them”.
Kayla is looking forward to completing her traineeship within Johnston Withers.
Fiona enjoys the many aspects of working in a law firm within a regional area, particularly farming transactions.
Gemma said she had loved her four years in Murray Bridge, going back to Johnston Withers’ acquisition of Marshall Conveyancing in 2018.
Her boys had played footy locally, she said, and she had made plenty of friends with whom she would keep in touch.
She believed she had made a difference in the community during that time, as well, by helping clients with complex issues including water rights.
She was proud of the whole team throughout the state, with whom she had been able to share her knowledge and expertise.
She was sure the refreshed team would carry on her legacy.
