The Rural City of Murray Bridge is seeking expressions of interest from persons interested in filling the vacant positions of Independent Community Members on Council’s Community Advisory Committee.
The Community Advisory Committee provides comments, feedback and recommendations to Council on:
- Grants – funding applications
- Public Art – proposals and promotion
- History – preservation and promotion
- Multicultural – service gaps and support
- Sport and Recreation – facilities, Sporting Facilities Grants recommendation review
- Tourism – promotion
- Youth – activities and service gaps
- Community Safety – support and promotion
- Social Inclusion – support and promotion
- Disability Inclusion – support and awareness
- Street Naming (in accordance with Council Policy)
Members of the Committee are appointed by the Council.
The Committee consists of ten voting members, being two Elected Members, one Youth Advisory Committee Member and seven independent community members who demonstrate wide ranging interests and a passion for the Council area. The Mayor is an ex officio member of the Committee.
The available positions are voluntary and requires the attendance at either day or evening meetings. The meetings will be held at least quarterly.
