A Meningie man has received a heavy fine after being pulled over at Wellington East.

A speeding driver has lost his licence for six months after allegedly being clocked at 197 kilometres per hour on the Princes Highway.

Police spotted the man’s Mercedes-Benz sedan at Wellington East just before 4.30pm on Friday, heading north towards Tailem Bend in a 110 zone.

They managed to pull him over and fined him $1814.

The 40-year-old from Meningie and his dog were the only ones in the car.
