Driver caught doing 142 in an 80 zone in Murray Bridge
Plus SA Police report two drink drivers.
Police have reported three drivers for behaving badly on local roads over the weekend, including a hoon allegedly caught at 62 kilometres per hour over the speed limit.
A speed camera allegedly recorded a Mitsubishi Lancer doing 142km/h in an 80 zone in Murray Bridge just after midnight on Monday.
Officers tracked down its driver, a 28-year-old local man, and reported him for driving at a dangerous speed.
They would have suspended his drivers’ licence, but they found it had already been suspended, so they tacked on extra 12-month ban and took his car away for 28 days.
Also in trouble over the weekend were two alleged drink drivers:
- A 27-year-old Murray Bridge man in a Holden ute who allegedly recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.16, three times the legal limit, in a breath test on East Terrace on Friday; he was disqualified from driving for 12 months
- A 23-year-old Murray Bridge man in a Suzuki sedan who allegedly blew 0.146 on Alma Avenue on Saturday, while driving on L plates; he lost his licence for six months
