They have lived the grey nomad life, seeing sights around Australia, but now Pam and Phil love calling Warner Close home.
After spending some time on the road, the idea of a lower-maintenance lifestyle began to appeal to them.
A friend suggested they consider Warner Close, a retirement living community in Murray Bridge which will host an open day next week.
“We were sort of thinking about it, but not seriously,” Phil says.
“We came down to have a look.
“That day, we signed up.”
Warner Close is a place to call home, somewhere you can continue living a laid-back, independent lifestyle in a lively community.
It also offers:
- Comfort: each unit is light and airy, with an en suite bathroom, built-in wardrobe, kitchenette and easy access to parking
- Security: Warner Close is a gated community with managers on site 24-seven
- No more chores: meals, gardening and a linen service are included in your weekly rental
Of course, residents can still cook a barbecue or grow herbs or flowers whenever they please, as well as making use of the organised social activities at the community hub, or the wood and metalworking space in the shed.
There are no up-front or exit fees; residents simply sign a rental agreement.
“When you come here, you’ve got nothing to worry about,” Pam says.
Jimmy has been living at Warner Close for just over a year.
“I found out about Warner Close from one of my mates when I was staying over at the motel down the road,” he said.
“I met the managers here, had a tour of the place, saw a room and loved it.
“It ticked all the boxes and I thought ‘this place looks good – I’m staying’.”
