Excitement is building in the Murraylands’ artistic community ahead of one of the biggest events on its annual calendar: the Murray Bridge Rotary Art Show.
Dozens of local artists working in media of all kinds have submitted their work ahead of a deadline this week, from first-timers to familiar faces.
Daniel Cazzolato falls into the latter category.
A well-known photographer throughout the Murraylands and Adelaide Hills, he brings more than 40 years of professional experience behind the lens.
Since first entering the Murray Bridge Rotary Art Show in 2010, his artistic journey has evolved significantly.
What began as a career focused on capturing beautiful portraits and “pretty pictures” has grown into a deeper exploration of art photography, where storytelling, texture, and emotion take centre stage.
Over time, his passion shifted from photographing people to photographing nature.
The intricate beauty and complex patterns observed in the natural world inspired a desire to share these fleeting moments with others.
Whether it is the delicate structure of a leaf, the play of light across water, or the quiet drama of a landscape, Cazzolato enjoys capturing nature as it happens: authentic, unposed and alive.
The Murray Bridge Rotary Art Show has remained his preferred exhibition space since 2010.
Not only is it held at a fabulous venue, in Murray Bridge Regional Gallery, that showcases a diverse range of artistic talent; it is also an event that gives back to the community, something that deeply resonates with Cazzolato’s own values.
Through this exhibition, he will continue to share a lifelong love of photography and a passion for revealing the extraordinary beauty found in the everyday world around us.
More than $4000 worth of prizes will be awarded at this year’s show, which will open on April 26.
