Cyclist dies after being hit by car on Brinkley Road
A local woman injured in a collision south of Murray Bridge has died in hospital.
A cyclist has died after being hit by a car on Brinkley Road on Friday.
Paramedics were called to the scene at Gifford Hill, near the Murray Bridge racecourse, at 8.50am.
The 47-year-old local woman was airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with life-threatening injuries, but died on Saturday.
The driver of the Suzuki SUV, a 21-year-old Murray Bridge woman, was not physically hurt.
Police closed a section of Brinkley Road south of the freeway for most of the day on Friday while major crash investigators examined the scene.
Eighty people have now died on South Australia’s roads this year.
