The Murray Towns Cricket Association is set to hit off this Saturday around the Murraylands.

The A and B grade teams will be happy with the predicted sunny conditions as the first game of the season gets underway.

The C grade sides will start the following week, allowing clubs to build up numbers.

In A grade this season are Mypolonga, Mannum, Wanderers, Monarto, Meningie and Tailem Bend.

B grade will include Mypolonga, Monarto, Wanderers, Ramblers, Mannum and Jervois.

In C grade are Mypolonga, Monarto, Imperials, Ramblers, Tailem Bend, Jervois and the Perponda Grass Parrots.

Vice president of the association Michael Trotter said the season was looking similar to last year in terms of player numbers.

"We've got 10 clubs in the league: six A grade clubs, six B grade clubs and seven in the C grade," he said.

Most clubs wouldn't get their full-strength teams until later in the summer, when footy players had had a well deserved break, he said.

Kayne Rigby, this season's stats insider, said Mypolonga would be the starting favourites this year.

Mypolonga are going for their third premiership in a row, having played the last six grand finals and won the two most recent; although Mannum might be able to give them a run for their money, Mr Rigby said.

But at the end of the day, Mr Trotter just wanted to see more people getting involved and playing cricket.

This year the league committee will focus on supporting all grades and making all clubs feel appreciated.

"If you don't have clubs, then we don't have a league and then people are off playing different sport," Mr Trotter said.

Games will commence at 1pm on Saturday, with the following A grade fixtures:

  • Tailem Bend v Mypolonga at Jaensch Park, Tailem Bend
  • Meningie v Mannum at Meningie Oval
  • Monarto v Wanderers at Homburg Oval, Murray Bridge
