Country people die on country roads, SA Police warn
SA Police have been shooting a series of road safety advertisements at Callington; plus a missing woman is found safe.

It’s mostly city drivers who die in country road accidents, right?
Wrong, say SA Police.
They’ve been filming a series of TV commercials near Callington this week, showing how dangerous it can be to take risks even on familiar roads.
Assistant Commissioner Ian Parrott said nearly half of the people who had died on country roads this year lived less than 20 kilometres from the crash site.
The ads would urge drivers to make life-saving decisions, he said, “whether they’re a local or a visitor”.
They would focus on the so-called “fatal five”: speeding, distractions, failing to wear a seatbelt, drink and drug driving, and fatigue.
Road Safety Minister Vincent Tarzia said the ads would start a conversation that country South Australians needed to have.
“Driving close to home does not guarantee your safety,” he said.
“It’s not enough to know the road like the back of your hand.”

Missing woman found safe and well
Meanwhile, SA Police say they have found a missing woman “safe and well” in Murray Bridge.
Selina Richards had been registered as missing since June 11, when she had last been seen at Redwood Park in Adelaide’s northeast.
