Country music superstars will headline concert at the Bend
Lee Kernaghan, Kasey Chambers and more are ready to rock at the motorsport park at Tailem Bend for the Bend Classic this October.
The Bend Motorsport Park will utilise every corner of its venue for the first time at a country music festival and racing event later this year.
The three-day event will be held from October 25-27 and include a weekend of cars, country and camping.
CEO Alistair MacDonald said the venue would be proud to host such a unique event that would not only attract car lovers, but country music fans and festival goers.
“The Bend Classic … will, for the first time, allow fans to experience every corner of the Bend and we believe this is a jam-packed three-day offering that will see a huge-level of buzz and visitation to the Murray River, Lakes and Coorong region,” he said.
Country music artist Lee Kernaghan will play at the newly created Podium Park alongside Kasey Chambers, Brad Cox and Beccy Cole.
Friday will feature a first ever “Bull Throttle” freestyle motocross and bull riding show at the Dragway.
Tourism Minister Zoe Bettison said a stellar lineup would help draw more crowds to the Murray River, Lakes and Coorong for the inaugural country music festival.
“This is another major event on South Australia’s blockbuster events calendar that is helping strengthen South Australia’s position as an events destination of choice, while injecting valuable dollars into our visitor economy,” she said.
A nostalgic drag racing event showcasing classic drag racing, with racing on the main circuit including historic touring cars and formula 5000, will be held on the Saturday.
Across the weekend, a barbecue village will host some of the nation’s best barbecue competitors, vying for a spot to compete at an international event in Texas.
