Murray Bridge will briefly become the centre of South Australia’s government next month when Premier Peter Malinauskas and his 14 Cabinet ministers roll into town for a community meeting.

A free barbecue will be held at the Imperial Football Club from 4.30pm on February 5, with a public forum to follow at 5.30.

Anyone who lives, works or spends time in the Murraylands will be welcome to attend, ask questions and share their views about the issues that are important to them.

However, the number of attendees will be limited, so anyone interested in going along should register beforehand.

The Cabinet is the main decision-making body of South Australia’s government, made up of 15 Labor MPs who serve as ministers for health, education, the treasury and other portfolios.

The state government has held 13 other Community Cabinet meetings since the last state election, from the suburbs of Adelaide to Mount Gambier, Port Lincoln and the APY Lands.

The premier, ministers and departmental chief executives typically visit local people, businesses and organisations on the day of the meeting to get a feel for the local area.
