Coldest August morning on record makes Murray Bridge shiver
Your fingers and toes are right, the Bureau of Meteorology says - it was cold, alright.

If you were shivering this morning, it was for good reason – it was one of the coldest ever recorded in Murray Bridge.
The temperature sank to -4.4 degrees Celsius at dawn, according to the Bureau of Meteorology’s weather station at Pallamana.
That made it the coldest August morning recorded since 1885.
The all-time record was just half a degree colder, on July 21, 1982.
Meningie recorded a minimum of -0.6 and Strathalbyn -0.2.

Landscape SA’s rural weather network also picked up some impressive temperatures, including -1.4 degrees at Wellington East; -4.5 at Mypolonga; -5.5 at Caurnamont, near Bowhill; and -5.7 at Sherlock.
The South Australian government declared a “code blue” on Tuesday, making extra accommodation available to anyone at risk of homelessness in the freezing conditions.
