During the state election campaign, Murray Bridge News asked you about the issues that were most important to you, then put your questions directly to the candidates.

Over the course of five weeks, we learned about their positions on COVID-19, public transport, health services, disadvantage and climate change.

In the days leading up to the election, we gave them all an opportunity to speak to you in person at a public forum.

Now, with a federal election soon to be upon us, we’re doing it all again.

We want to hear which issues will win your vote.

What is the citizens’ agenda?

Murray Bridge News will read all your survey answers, find common themes and collate them into a citizens’ agenda: a list of your priorities for the next Member for Barker.

Through the election campaign, we’ll ask each candidate how they would address the issues you’ve raised during the next four years.

Don’t like their answers?

A public forum in the days leading up to the election will give you a chance to put your questions to the candidates in person, COVID-19 permitting.

Key dates ahead of the 2022 federal election

We don’t know exactly when the federal election will be yet, but it is most likely to be sometime in May.

In the meantime, it’s important that you update your details on the electoral roll if you haven’t done so since the last federal election in May 2019.

You can do that at the Australian Electoral Commission website.

If you don’t do it within seven days of the election being officially called, you won’t be able to vote.

We’ll add more dates to this section if the election is officially called in the coming days.
