Choirboys, Kingswood to feature at post-V8 race Rocking the Murray concert
The Bend Motorsport Park will host a rock concert on the Saturday night at the 2023 OTR Super Sprint, the venue has announced.
For years, post-race concerts have been a big drawcard at Adelaide’s V8 Supercars event.
Now Tailem Bend will get one, too.
Aussie rockers Choirboys and Kingswood will perform at a concert called “Rocking the Murray” at the Bend Motorsport Park on August 19.
That’s the Saturday night in the middle of the OTR Super Sprint.
Free shuttle buses will bring passengers to and from Murray Bridge on the night.
Motor sport park CEO Alistair MacDonald said the ultimate goal was to put on an event that would be easy for locals to get to, and one they could be proud of.
“We’re excited to provide race fans and eventgoers with a complete event experience for the whole family and expand the offering for the 3500 people we have staying on site during the event,” he said.
Kingswood guitarist Alex Laska said the band was super excited about the show.
“We are all massive motorsport fans and everyone in the band is in possession of something that goes fast,” he said.
“After our 120-date Hometown tour around Australia, we are very much looking forward to putting on a show for all the fans at the Bend.”
This year’s OTR Super Sprint will run from Friday, August 18 to Sunday, August 20.
It will be the first race at the venue to feature the new, third-generation V8 Supercars.
A complete event schedule is yet to be released.
