Celebrate locals’ abilities – submit an award nomination
The Murray Bridge council will present awards to an individual and an organisation for the International Day of People with a Disability in 2021.
People living with disability deserve to be celebrated.
The Murray Bridge council wants your help to do just that.
Nominations are now open for two awards that will be presented on the International Day of People with a Disability, in December.
The first award will be presented to a local person living with disability who has overcome barriers, focuses on their abilities and achievements, and/or advocates for people with disability.
A second award will be presented to a business, program or organisation which has worked to break down barriers faced by people living with disability.
Award winners will be presented with certificates and prizes at an event to be held on December 3.
A healthy barbecue lunch and engaging activities will be set up near the Murray Bridge Regional Rowing Centre, at Sturt Reserve, between 10am and 1pm on the day.
Council community development team leader Faith Box encouraged all locals to join the fun – “people with or without a disability, disability services and all schools” – in the name of making Murray Bridge a more inclusive place.
Award nominations will close on November 22.
