Cannabis, cash, guns found in drug raid at Palmer

Police have allegedly found $28,000 in cash and 21 guns during a drug-related raid of a property at Palmer.

They also allegedly found 17 kilograms of dried cannabis in buckets in a shed.

Officers and detectives from Murray Bridge and Mannum, plus mounted and dog squad officers, had all converged on the Reedy Creek Road property just before 10am last Wednesday.

As well as the cannabis, cash, guns and “a large amount of ammunition”, they found and confiscated a motor vehicle, two motorbikes and a boat they believed were the proceeds of crime.

The following day, a 55-year-old Palmer man was arrested and charged with drug trafficking.

A local woman of the same age was arrested and given the same charge on Sunday.

Each was granted bail and instructed to answer to the charges at Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on October 7.
