Better late than never for Tailem Bend Auto Club
The club has celebrated last Christmas with socialising and by making a donation to Community Living Australia over the weekend.

Christmas has come late this year for members of the Tailem Bend Auto Club.
Like so many events in 2020, the club was forced to postpone its end-of-year show, originally scheduled for November, due to COVID.
Numbers were slightly down on last year, but 56 vehicles and their owners still rolled up at Tailem Bend Football Club on Saturday.
There might have been more had a rain shower not threatened to spoil the historic vehicles’ paintwork, president Lynton Piggott suggested.
Still, those present pooled their resources to donate 35 gifts and several hundred dollars to Community Living Australia, for people living with disability, and had a good catch-up besides.
The club’s emphasis was on socialising, Mr Piggott said, and it welcomed the owners of any car, be it Australian, British, American or otherwise; young or old; and immaculate or well-used.
“We started the club about eight years ago, thinking we’d end up with about 30 members,” he said.
“Now we’ve got about 300.
“We go as far as Meningie, Parrakie, Karoonda, Mannum, Bowhill; we’ve got a few from Adelaide; half our members would be from Murray Bridge; and there are some from Milang and Strath.”
Tailem Bend Auto Club members gather at the football club at 6pm on the third Tuesday of each month.
Meetings start at 7pm and end with a supper provided by the Friends of the Tailem Bend Hospital for $5.
