Know someone who is actively shaping your community for the better? Nominate today.
Nominations for citizen of the year awards are now open for both Murray Bridge and the Coorong district.
The awards celebrate people who have made an outstanding impact in areas such as education, health, environment, business, sport, arts, community service and more.
Individuals need only be nominated once to be considered for an award, and the
number of nominations received per nominee bears no weight in their selection.
The Murray Bridge Citizen of the Year Award categories are:
- Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Community Event of the Year
- Award for Active Citizenship
The Coorong Citizen of the Year Award categories are:
- Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Community Event of the Year
- Community Project of the Year
Murray Bridge Mayor Wayne Thorley encouraged everyone to reflect on the remarkable contributions of individuals who enhanced the community.
“Our community is built on the incredible efforts of individuals whose hard work and passion uplift our community,” he said.
“We have many extraordinary people among us who selflessly dedicate their time and talents.
"This is our chance to express gratitude and celebrate those who go above and beyond.
"Your nomination could shine a light on someone who truly deserves recognition for their outstanding contribution to the community.”
Award recipients will be announced on Australia Day, January 26.
Nominations will close on October 25 in the Coorong district and November 15 for Murray Bridge.
