About bloomin' time: Murray Bridge Garden and Floral Art Club comes out of recess
The club will return from a 13-month hiatus with a presentation by Country Herbals' Heather Walsh next month.

After 13 months without meeting, the 102-year-old Murray Bridge Garden and Floral Art Club is back.
While acknowledging the hard work put in by South Australians in following COVID-19 precautions, Rob Butcher said for many the isolation caused by the restrictions had been pretty tough going.
“I am really delighted to announce that the executive of the Murray Bridge Garden and Floral Art Club, after careful consideration, has decided that the time has come to resume its monthly meetings,” he said.
“We have looked judiciously at the COVID-19 guidelines and am more than confident that we can meet safely within these parameters.”
“We have COVID marshals to make sure that all those who attend the meetings follow the rules, but yet still have lots of fun.
“It really will be so good for club members to get together once more, to hear from guest speakers and to share the wonders of gardening.”
Delighted club secretary Dawn Treloar informed the executive meeting that while the club had been in recess, she had been on the phone lining up guest speakers who, at rather short notice, would be able to present at forthcoming meetings.
“It (will be) really good of Heather Walsh from Country Herbals to come along to our first meeting of the year in April to present on the growing and many uses of herbs,” she said.
“In addition, John Gay has said he is more than happy to present at the May meeting of the club, where he will present on the growing and care of orchids.”
The club will meet on Wednesday, April 7 at the Seventh Day Adventist Hall, on the corner of Myall Avenue and Standen Street, Murray Bridge, commencing at 7.30pm.
